Hello Dear friends, neighbors, sponsors and potential sponsors!
What a difference another year makes!
While many challenges still remain, there is cause for hope and, at least a little light down that tunnel. If you recall, last year was also year two of our newly formed, stand alone, Colorado Non-Profit The Trinidaddio Blues Fest. What a great job the team, our wonderful sponsors, the volunteers, the town and the bands did in delivering a super year!
Now, as things at least appear to be on the upswing it is time to get serious about another great Trinidaddio! This is the 13th Trinidaddio and promises to be the best (or at least one of the best!) yet. Few if any events in Southern Colorado reach as many people from all over as this event. It is Trinidad’s chance to bask in the spotlight and shine! With your help, more and more people see what is so special about Trinidad and Trinidaddio.
Yes there are signs of economic light. This fact coupled with some of our best and long time sponsors coming forward is making us feel “bullish” again. We have some significant new supporters who have already pledged to join us this year as well. With your help, our confidence is high that Trinidaddio XIII will continue our tradition of a great community event that also is one of the most important economic stimulation efforts of the year in Trinidad and the entire region.
All of the positives taken into account, this year’s Trinidaddio will still be a challenge. This is another critical year for your sponsorship. As the brand new “Trinidaddio Blues Fest” non-profit was launched amid economic uncertainty, in this our “junior year” we need your support more than ever. Thank you so much!
We have been talking about the creation of a single focus Trinidaddio Blues Fest only, non-profit for years. That dream has now become a reality thanks to the hard work of many.
Why a non-profit?
Good question! Just a couple of the reasons are:
-A complete focus on making the Trinidaddio Blues Fest the premier end of summer event in the region.
-A more focused return to the basics of the Fest:
-Stimulate the local economy
-Provide a level of musical entertainment never seen before in the area
-Have a big ole party!!
In addition, with our new non-profit, your sponsorship dollars are more easily tax-deductible and we are able to better sustain the Trinidaddio Blues Fest year to year.
Lastly, our vision to provide musical instruments to needy children in the area and provide blues programs in the schools will soon be a reality as well with your help! We truly want the Trinidaddio Blues Fest to be one of the things you feel the best about supporting because of all the good it does!
All this while continuing to support other great local causes:
The Trinidad Area Arts Council, the Fireman’s Toy Drive, Southern Colorado Repertory Theatre and Noah’s Ark – to name a few – are all still playing roles in the Fest. So of course is the Chamber of Commerce. We like to think it is the best of all worlds!
One of the things that has helped the Fest become so popular is our annual “world class lineup”. Even with the economy improving, we knew that we could not skimp in this key area. That is why we have, arguably our best ever lineup. Certainly would be hard pressed to find a group of performers more diverse, more decorated from the awards community, more genuine and more FUN than the lineup we are thrilled to bring to you and our community for 2011 our 13th year!
